Kuzma, Kuzma

Kuzma (; in older sources also ''Kuzdoblan'',〔(''Domovina'' 9(53) (30 December 1926): 7. ) 〕〔(''Jutro'' 11(82) (8 April 1930): 5. ) 〕 Prekmurje Slovene: ''Küzdobljan'',〔("Živinsko i drobno senje (sejmi) v Sl. Krajini." 1929. ''Nájszvetejsega Szrca Jezusovoga veliki kalendár za lüdsztvo'' 26: 103. ) 〕 (ハンガリー語:Kuzma)) is a settlement in the Municipality of Kuzma in the Prekmurje region in northeastern Slovenia, on the borders with Austria and Hungary.
==Name==
Kuzma was attested in written sources in 1387 as ''Zalocha'' and ''Zaloucha'', and as ''Kuzma'' in 1763–87. The name ''Kuzma'' is derived from the Slovene saint's name ''Kozma'' 'Cosmas', known as ''Küzma'' in the Prekmurje dialect. Locally, the settlement is known as ''Kuzdobljan'', which is derived through contraction of ''Koz(ma in) Damijan'' 'Cosmas and Damian', referring to the local church.〔Snoj, Marko. 2009.
